There is something about fall in North Carolina that makes family photos feel a little extra special. The golden evening light, changing leaves, cooler temperatures and cosy outfits make it one of my absolute favourite seasons to photograph families.
And I’m so excited to say that 2026 Fall Mini Sessions are officially open for booking!
This year, I’ll be offering two beautiful locations — the North Carolina Museum of Art in Raleigh on October 3rd & 4th and E. Carroll Joyner Park in Wake Forest on October 10th & 11th. Each session is 20 minutes and includes all of your beautifully edited images.
The North Carolina Museum of Art is such a beautiful location for fall family photos, with a gorgeous mixture of open fields, mature trees, winding pathways, outdoor art and natural scenery. There’s plenty of room for kiddos to move and play while we capture both those classic family portraits and the sweet moments in between. In the fall, the tall grasses, changing trees and warm evening light create the dreamiest backdrop. I love the variety we can create here, from soft and natural to slightly more modern and artistic. It’s perfect for families wanting relaxed, timeless photos with a little Raleigh charm.
E. Carroll Joyner Park is one of my favourite Wake Forest locations, especially once fall arrives! With mature trees, open fields, walking paths, historic farm buildings, stonework and its beautiful pecan grove, there are so many gorgeous little spots for photographs. It has a cosy, classic North Carolina feel that pairs perfectly with fall colours. There’s plenty of room for kiddos to run and play, making it easy to capture those genuine smiles and candid moments alongside your traditional portraits. If you love warm, timeless family photos with a slightly rustic feel, Joyner Park is a beautiful choice.
These sessions aren’t about everyone standing perfectly still and smiling at the camera for 20 minutes. We’ll get those classic portraits, of course, but I also want the giggles, cuddles, sibling silliness and all those little moments that make your family your family.
