Hey y’all! I absolutely loved this session and I’m so excited to share this big, beautiful session. This was one of those heart-full, laugh-often kind of days. Getting to take photos as a full, extended family brought together grandparents, three siblings, and all their sweet crews for a truly special afternoon.
There’s something extra meaningful about photographing multiple generations in one place. From the proud smiles of grandparents surrounded by their growing family, to cousins laughing together and siblings reconnecting in front of the camera, every moment felt like a celebration of togetherness. These are the kinds of images that become heirlooms. The ones families pull out years from now and say, “Remember this day?”
We started with everyone together for a big group portrait, then slowly worked our way through each family unit. That way everyone got their own spotlight while still being part of the bigger story. I love sessions like this because they’re the perfect mix of posed and natural, a little structure to keep things flowing, and plenty of space for genuine smiles, hugs, and those sweet in-between moments that make photos feel real.
One of my favourite parts of extended family sessions is watching the kids interact with their grandparents. There’s so much love in those little glances, hand-holds, and giggles. It’s such a reminder that photos aren’t just about how everyone looks, they’re about preserving the feeling of this season of life.
