Wake Forest Newborn Photographer | When should I book a session?

If you’re expecting a baby—first off, congratulations! 💛 Whether it’s your first or your fifth, this journey is beautiful, emotional, and so worth remembering. One of the most common questions I get from expectant moms is:

“When should I book my newborn session?”

And the answer? The third trimester is the sweet spot!

Here’s why: I book newborn sessions based on your due date, but babies are unpredictable little miracles. So instead of locking in just one specific day, I pencil in a weekend spot for the week before, the week of, and the week after your due date. That gives us some wiggle room to work around baby’s actual arrival without the stress of scrambling to schedule something last minute.

Once your little one arrives, we’ll finalize your session date for that perfect window—ideally when baby is between 5 and 12 days old. During this time, babies are still super sleepy and naturally curled, which allows me to safely pose them in those timeless, peaceful positions that parents love.

These early days go by so fast, and trust me—you’ll never regret having these soft, dreamy images to look back on. With my light and airy style, neutral tones, and gentle posing, we’ll create heirloom-quality portraits that you’ll treasure for years (and generations) to come.

If you’re in your third trimester—or even earlier!—now is the time to book. I take a limited number of sessions each month to ensure every client receives a personalized, stress-free experience from beginning to end.

Let’s capture your newest love while they’re still tiny and fresh. 💕

Ready to book or learn more? I’d love to chat with you!
