The Sweetest Pose, the Safest Hands: Behind the Scenes of Newborn Safety

When you see a beautifully posed newborn photo—like this sweet little girl all curled up with her chin propped in her tiny hands, it may look effortless. But the truth behind the magic? It’s all about safety first, always.
One of the most iconic newborn poses is known as the froggy pose, and it’s also one of the most carefully crafted. You’ll notice in the behind-the-scenes images that a hand is always on baby – supporting her head,
cradling her cheeks, and ensuring she’s stable and secure. These hands are never edited out until we’re absolutely confident that every part of baby’s position was supported and safe.
What you don’t see in the final image is the composite editing that brings it all together. This pose is created by combining multiple photos—one with a hand supporting the baby’s head, and another supporting the wrists. The result is an adorable final image that looks peaceful and perfect, but never compromises your baby’s wellbeing.

At my studio, safety is never optional—it’s the standard. Every session is guided by years of experience, newborn-specific training, and a deep respect for these precious little lives. From temperature control and sanitation, to using safe posing techniques and soft, supportive materials, every detail is intentional.
These photos are more than just portraits—they’re proof that beauty and safety can go hand in hand.
If you’re looking for a photographer who puts your baby’s comfort and care at the heart of everything, I’d be honored to work with you.
With love and camera in hand,
Emily
